"The tension between men who share vulnerability and unspoken sympathy is both high flying and swoon-worthy...It's like watching an improved version of Top Gun and A Few Good Men."

HISTORY
1995
DMW Greer's Burning Blue drawn from his own experiences as a Naval Aviator
makes its World Premiere at The Kings Head on London's Fringe. West End Producer, Robert Fox, moves Burning Blue to the Theatre Royal Haymarket where the production receives two Olivier Awards.
"The most topical, powerful and spellbinding play in London." - Evening Standard, London
"A miracle; a compassionate, searingly emotional play." - The Sunday Express, London
"A blockbuster !" - The Times, London
Burning Blue premiers in Cape Town and then Johannesburg, South Africa
where critics continue to praise this "...sophisticated adult drama".
The production continues its journey to Tel Aviv where it plays
to sell out houses for eighteen months.
Burning Blue then makes its American Premiere in Los Angelos, with John Hickok returning to the helm as Director, and plays to sold out houses.
"A heart-breaking love story; a visceral collision with the shattering
consequences of prejudice. Greer's dialogue churns with authenticity
and conviction." - Los Angeles Times
"Greer has created compelling characters and situations, with sharp funny
dialogue." - The Hollywood Reporter
Burning Blue opens Off Broadway in New York City. Again to public and
critical praise.
"Greer writes with blazing authority about men and machines, under tension.
With the appeal of A Few Good Men and a passionate, yet measured
denouncement of homophobia in the U.S. Navy." - The New York Post
"If you're not already angry about our militarys homophobic
Dont Ask, Dont Tell policy, DMW Greer's powerful drama
should do the trick !" - Broadway.com
"John Hickock, who also directed the London West End and Los Angeles
productions, skillfully steers the nine-member cast through the mounting
tensions and elicits robust performances from all." - Curtains Up
DMW Greer and co-writer, Helene Kvale, adapt Burning Blue for the screen.
With the exception of an early morning shoot at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., Burning Blue was shot entirely in New York City and Long Island, NY.
Burning Blue screened at the Cannes Film Market, Reeling Chicago International Film Festival, Frameline37 San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival and Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.
